With a core business as one the UK’s leading suppliers in repackaging, distributing and reclaiming speciality gases and chemicals used as refrigerants, blowing agents, aerosol propellants and cleaning solvents, A-Gas wanted to be positioned as the point of reference for customers across a broad range of industries to address forthcoming legislative issues. The client wanted to raise awareness of its advanced refrigerant reclamation and recycling facility.
The outright ban on virgin R22 and other HCFC’s from 1st January 2010 means that industrial companies have no alternative but to change many existing practices and source alternative refrigerants. This legislative requirement is therefore essential and urgent.
As series of one-on-one interviews with key trade media in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration sector was organised to ensure the delivery of key messages covering A-Gas’ response and solution to the issues facing the industry. Regular news releases were issued targeting publications where the readers are users across different industry sectors and in local government. Placement of in-depth features and case studies was organised to illustrate the transition to alternative refrigerants that improve the efficacy of customers’ plant or process while making a significant contribution to minimise the effects of climate change.
Substantial coverage across all the targeted media sector resulted in a measurable increase in awareness and an increase in the number of sales enquiries received by A-Gas.
"Integrating a PR campaign into our marketing activities has raised our profile and positioned A-Gas as a solution provider, helping end users comply with refrigerant regulations."
Ken Logan, Managing Director, A-Gas (UK) Limited.
